Escalating tensions in the Middle East have triggered widespread flight cancellations, with airlines suspending services to ensure passenger safety amid the conflict.
Rising tensions in the Middle East have led several international airlines to alter their operations, either by suspending flights to the region or rerouting to avoid affected airspace. Below is an overview of the airlines that have made adjustments to their services:
AEGEAN AIRLINES
The Greek carrier has suspended all flights to and from Beirut, Amman, and Tel Aviv until August 19.
AIR ALGERIE
Algeria’s national airline has temporarily halted flights to and from Lebanon until further notice.
AIRBALTIC
Latvia’s airBaltic has canceled all flights to and from Tel Aviv until August 18.
AIR INDIA
India’s flagship airline has suspended its scheduled flights to and from Tel Aviv indefinitely.
AIR FRANCE-KLM
Air France announced on August 14 that it would resume flights between Paris and Beirut starting August 15, after a suspension that began on July 29. Meanwhile, KLM, its Dutch counterpart, has canceled all Tel Aviv flights until October 26. Additionally, Transavia, the group’s low-cost airline, has suspended its Tel Aviv services until March 31, 2025, and flights to Amman until November 3.
CATHAY PACIFIC
Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific has canceled all flights to Tel Aviv until March 27, 2025.
DELTA AIR LINES
The U.S. airline has extended its suspension of flights between New York and Tel Aviv until August 31.
EASYJET
The UK-based budget airline ceased operations to and from Tel Aviv in April and plans to resume flights on March 30, 2025, according to a spokesperson.
FINNAIR
Finland’s Finnair has avoided Iranian airspace, which may increase flight durations to and from Doha.
ITA AIRWAYS
Italy’s national airline has extended its suspension of Tel Aviv flights until August 19.
LOT POLISH AIRLINES
Poland’s flag carrier has suspended flights to Israel until August 18, as confirmed in an email to Reuters.
LUFTHANSA GROUP
The Lufthansa Group, including Swiss Air Lines, Brussels Airlines, and Austrian Airlines, has extended its avoidance of Iranian and Iraqi airspace. Additionally, it has suspended flights to Tel Aviv, Tehran, Beirut, Amman, and Erbil until August 21.
RYANAIR
Europe’s largest low-cost airline has canceled flights to and from Tel Aviv until September 3, citing “operational restrictions.”
SINGAPORE AIRLINES
Singapore Airlines has rerouted flights to avoid Iranian airspace, opting for alternative routes.
TAROM
Romania’s national airline has extended its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv, Amman, and Beirut until August 16.
UNITED AIRLINES
The Chicago-based airline has suspended its Tel Aviv flights indefinitely, having stopped daily services between Newark, New Jersey, and Tel Aviv on July 31, due to security concerns.
VUELING
The Spanish low-cost airline, part of the IAG group, has canceled all flights to Tel Aviv and Amman until October 26.
LEBANESE AIRSPACE ADVISORY
The UK government has advised British airlines to avoid Lebanese airspace from August 8 until November 4 due to potential risks from military activities.
