Air Astana Group Signs Major Agreement with Air Lease Corporation for Seven Airbus A321neo LR Aircraft

Air Astana Group, the largest airline group in Central Asia and the Caucasus by revenue and fleet size, has taken a significant step in its expansion plans by signing an agreement with Air Lease Corporation. This agreement, signed on 26 July 2024, involves the operating lease of seven Airbus A321neo LR aircraft. The Board of Directors of Air Astana Group approved this major transaction on 25 July 2024.

Deliveries of the new aircraft are scheduled to begin in 2026, supporting Air Astana Group’s ambitious plan to expand its fleet to 80 aircraft by the end of 2028. This strategic move is expected to enhance the Group’s operational capabilities, providing greater flexibility and efficiency in its route network.

Peter Foster, President and CEO of Air Astana Group, commented on the agreement: “This lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation marks a pivotal moment in our growth strategy. The addition of the Airbus A321neo LR aircraft will significantly bolster our fleet, allowing us to expand our services and meet the increasing demand for air travel in the region.”

The Airbus A321neo LR is known for its enhanced fuel efficiency, extended range, and improved passenger comfort, making it a valuable addition to Air Astana Group’s fleet. These aircraft will enable the airline to operate longer routes with greater economic efficiency, aligning with the Group’s goal of offering superior service to its passengers while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability.
