Tourism Australia Hosts Industry Roundtable in Paris Amidst Launch of Direct Qantas Flights

With the kick-start of the recently introduced non-stop Qantas Paris to Perth flight services, the efficient team of Tourism Australia in Continental Europe came across with several trade partners in the market.

Tourism Australia on Tuesday organized an industry roundtable meet with seven main distribution and industry association partners, representatives of Qantas management and Tourism WA in Paris.

This roundtable conference was attended by Her Excellency, Ms Gillian Bird, Ambassador of Australia to France and The Hon Patrick Gorman MP, the Assistant Minister to the Australian Prime Minister, was a chance to throw light on the significance of the French travel market to the visitor economy of Australia and to talk about the opportunities of the future.

Additional meetings along with the formal ceremony of the airport ribbon cutting have taken place simultaneously. The recent data shows that visitors from France to Australia went up to 106 per cent of the levels of 2019 for the month of May 2024 at the same time the recent figure of total visitor expenditure were at $0.9 billion for the year end in March 2024.
