Azorra has announced the acquisition of an Embraer E195 aircraft from Aurigny, the regional airline serving Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

Aurigny has operated this aircraft since 2014, primarily on routes connecting the UK and Europe. The sale to Azorra is part of Aurigny’s strategic fleet transformation initiative, aiming to modernize and enhance their operations.

Nico Bezuidenhout, CEO of Aurigny, says: “The Embraer E195 is a very good aircraft that has served Islanders and visitors well over the last decade.  Fleet simplification is, however, a key ingredient to improving the sustainability and resilience of Guernsey’s air connectivity, and as such, the decision to exit the Embraer from Aurigny’s fleet.”

Michael Davis, Chief Marketing Officer of Azorra, says: “The E195 continues to be in high demand and this opportunity to assist Aurigny is complementary to supporting the capacity needs of our existing Embraer customer base.”

In addition to the Embraer E195, Aurigny operates a fleet of five turboprop aircraft, including ATR and Dornier models. These turboprops are crucial for maintaining the airline’s regional connectivity, ensuring reliable and efficient service to its passengers. The ongoing fleet transformation will allow Aurigny to continue delivering top-tier service while improving sustainability and operational performance.
