Avelo Airlines is making a remarkable entry into the second half of 2024 as the most reliable airline in the United States. In June, the airline achieved the top spot for on-time performance and boasted the lowest flight cancellation rate in the industry. Furthermore, Avelo maintained its leadership in both metrics for the first half of 2024. These achievements are reported by Anuvu, a prominent aviation data services company also used by The Wall Street Journal for its annual airline ranking. Avelo achieved top on-time performance with 84.3% of its flights arriving within 15 minutes of their scheduled times, surpassing the Department of Transportation’s A14 standard for U.S. airlines. This performance significantly exceeded the industry average of 73.6% and the second-best carrier’s 78.62% in June.
In June, Avelo also led the industry with a low cancellation rate of 0.12%, far better than the industry average of 1.26%. Out of 1,653 scheduled flights, Avelo canceled only two.
For 2024, Avelo’s A14 stands at 84.1%, the highest in the industry, and its cancellation rate of 0.24% is the lowest through June 2024.
