Qatar Airways inaugurated its inaugural flight to Hamburg Airport (HAM) in Germany today, marking the commencement of daily non-stop services from Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, Qatar. Recently named Best Airport and Retail by Skytrax, Hamad International Airport underscores its reputation as a global leader in aviation.

Hamburg now joins Qatar Airways’ roster as its fifth destination in Germany, complementing existing services in Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and Munich to meet robust market demand. The airline, recognized as the World’s Best Airline in Skytrax 2024, reported a 62% increase in outbound passengers from Germany in 2023 compared to the previous year.

This new route expands Qatar Airways’ extensive network to over 170 destinations worldwide, facilitating seamless travel connections from northern Germany to Doha and beyond. It enhances accessibility to Hamburg, a dynamic metropolis, for global travelers.

The route also strengthens economic and trade ties between northern Germany, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Anticipated to bolster Hamburg’s cargo sector by up to 11%, these flights contribute significantly to regional economic growth.

On its maiden arrival, the flight was greeted by dignitaries including Dr. Peter Tschentscher, First Mayor of Hamburg; Mr. Ali Al-Boainain, Charge de Affair of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Berlin; Mr. Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways; Eng.
