Olivia Cooke Pops in Red Chanel, Talks Horseback Riding for ‘Colbert’

Olivia Cooke brought a fiery red sartorial statement to the Tuesday episode of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.” The actress discussed the forthcoming second season of the Max series “House of the Dragon,” a prequel to the Emmy-winning adaptation of “Game of Thrones.”

For her late-night talk show appearance, Cooke wore a red tweed jacket and coordinated miniskirt courtesy of Chanel. The look featured double buttons running down the jacket, and a half-open lapel to reveal a multicolored fabric detail. The retro-inspired ensemble also featured pockets.

Cooke complemented her red attire with a pair of black heels that featured glittering details. She kept her accessories simple, opting for her Chanel look to be the centerpiece for her late-night talk show appearance.

The actress’ hair was styled in voluminous, long curls by Ben Skervin, while her makeup by Hung Vanngo accentuated her natural beauty. Cooke’s entire look was curated by stylist Jamie Mizrahi, who’s also worked with such A-list clients as Jennifer Lawrence, Riley Keough and Nicole Richie.

Speaking to Colbert, Cooke shared video of herself struggling to mount a horse in preparation to film “House of the Dragon” season two scenes. “That was me just getting comfortable with a horse,” Cooke explained, adding that she was inexperienced and her choice in clothing created challenges. “I just want you to know my jeans were very tight and this is the biggest, fattest horse you’ve ever seen.”

Prior to her appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” Cooke and other members of the “House of the Dragon” cast came together on Monday for the New York City premiere of the series’ second season.

For the occasion, Cooke fashioned a selection from Loewe’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection. The sleeveless blue dress perfectly merged fantasy inspiration and regal elegance. Cooke’s gown featured dramatic cutouts and a statement black belt at the waist.

Cooke was joined on the red carpet by costars Emma D’Arcy, who fashioned a look by Celine, Matt Smith, Eve Best and more.

“House of the Dragon” takes place more than 100 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.” The HBO series follows the family war between members of House Targaryen as they battle over the Iron Throne. The second season of the series debuts on June 16 on Max.
