Orlando International Airport (MCO) is minimally affected by the global IT issues impacting U.S. airlines. Operations are stabilizing, and travelers are advised to check flight statuses and allow extra time at the airport.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) has experienced minimal disruption from the recent global technology issue that affected IT systems at several U.S. airlines. Our team is actively collaborating with airline partners to ensure smooth passenger flow and ease of operations within the terminal.

Currently, local airlines are progressively resuming normal operations. As of Friday morning, here is the situation at MCO:

  • Delays affecting flights to, from, or within the U.S.: 74
  • Cancellations at Orlando International Airport: 65

The FAA is diligently overseeing the situation and coordinating with the airlines.

Although MCO’s own IT systems remain unaffected, we recognize the inconvenience caused to travelers and are working with our partners to address and reduce any disruptions at the airport.

We recommend passengers to:

  • Verify their flight status directly with their airlines.
  • Allow additional time for check-in and baggage handling.
  • Stay informed by checking our airport’s website and social media for updates.

CrowdStrike is assisting the affected airlines and has released a statement available on their official website.

The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority is honored to manage both Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL), two premier air travel hubs in Florida. MCO, a leading global connector, handles over 57 million passengers annually across its three terminals—A, B, and C. Terminal C, linked to an Intermodal Terminal Facility with high-speed rail service, enhances the passenger experience with fully automated TSA screening lanes. Located just a few miles from downtown Orlando, ORL provides essential general aviation services to the central region.
