Virgin Atlantic has unveiled three new codeshare partnerships launching this year, aimed at boosting connectivity and enhancing customer benefits. Additionally, the airline will resume its London Heathrow to Tel Aviv route starting 5 September 2024.

Virgin Atlantic Partners with EL AL and Resumes Tel Aviv Route

Virgin Atlantic will resume daily flights from London Heathrow to Tel Aviv on 5 September 2024, utilizing Airbus A330 aircraft. These flights will offer connections through Heathrow to 14 US destinations, with 33 daily flights operated by Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines.

A new codeshare partnership with EL AL will offer increased connections between the UK, US, and Israel. Both airlines will place codes on their respective London Heathrow and Tel Aviv services, providing customers with greater flexibility and up to four daily flights between the UK and Israel. The partnership will feature reciprocal earn and redemption opportunities, along with premium customer recognition and tier benefits for frequent flyers through Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club and EL AL’s Matmid program. Virgin Atlantic customers will be able to travel on EL AL’s services from Tel Aviv to Heathrow and connect to 11 US destinations on 23 daily flights.

Expanding the SkyTeam Network

As a member of SkyTeam since March 2023, Virgin Atlantic welcomes SAS Scandinavian Airlines as the alliance’s newest member. This collaboration aims to enhance connectivity and offer new destinations. Starting 1 September 2024, Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club members will have immediate earning and redeeming opportunities with SAS, as the airline formally joins SkyTeam. Additionally, SAS EuroBonus members will be able to earn and redeem points on Virgin Atlantic.

A new codeshare with SkyTeam member Saudia has also been launched, providing connectivity between Saudi Arabia and Virgin Atlantic destinations. The first phase of the agreement is live, allowing Virgin Atlantic customers traveling from the US to connect seamlessly through London Heathrow and Manchester to Saudia’s services to Jeddah and Riyadh. Virgin Points and Tier Points earning, along with points redemption, have been available since March 2023, with online redemptions launched last month. Saudia’s AlFursan members can earn and redeem points on Virgin Atlantic flights.
