Air France, as an official partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, has been diligently preparing to welcome sports delegations, media, and fans from around the world. For several weeks now, the airline has been ensuring seamless travel experiences for attendees of the world’s largest sporting event.

Welcoming the World: Over 9,000 Accredited Guests on Board

So far, Air France has successfully transported over 9,000 accredited guests, including athletes, sports delegations, and press members, from more than 150 of the 206 nationalities participating in the Paris 2024 Games. Impressively, one-third of these guests have chosen Air France for their journey to Paris.

Peak Arrivals and Strategic Planning

The airline witnessed a significant influx on July 25, 2024, just a day before the Opening Ceremony, with nearly 1,000 accredited individuals arriving in a single day. The majority, around 90%, landed at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, Air France’s primary hub. Notably, the first Paralympic athletes’ delegations have also started arriving to begin their pre-competition preparations.

Represented Nations

Among the various delegations, Japan, Switzerland, and the United States had the highest representation on Air France flights. As the Olympic events continue, arrivals are expected to maintain a steady pace.

Preparing for Departures

Anticipating the athletes’ departure post-competitions, Air France is gearing up for a concentrated departure period following the Closing Ceremony. Unlike the gradual arrivals, departures are expected to peak over 24 to 48 hours, with the busiest day projected to be August 12.

Dedicated Check-In Facility at the Olympic and Paralympic Village

To provide a hassle-free experience, Air France has established a dedicated check-in system for athletes and delegations at the Olympic and Paralympic Village. This facility allows athletes and delegations to check their luggage a day before their departure and use a designated route to and from the airport. The off-site check-in system (OAP) will operate around the Closing Ceremonies (August 11 for the Olympic Games and September 8 for the Paralympic Games), supported by up to 125 Air France ground staff to ensure efficient baggage handling for those traveling on Air France and its partner airlines.

Commitment to Excellence

Air France’s meticulous planning and dedicated services underscore its commitment to supporting the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, ensuring a smooth and memorable travel experience for all participants.
