Vietjet’s Air Transport Revenue for the First 6 Months Reaches USD 1.3 Billion with International Air Routes Expansion

Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company has announced a record-breaking financial performance for the first half of 2024, showcasing robust revenue growth and extensive international route expansions. In H1 2024, Vietjet transported 13.1 million passengers across 70,154 safe flights, surpassing its pre-pandemic 2019 performance.

The airline reported a Q2 2024 air transport revenue of VND 15.128 trillion (approximately US$ 601.68 million) and a pre-tax profit of VND 517 billion (approximately US$ 20.57 million), reflecting a year-on-year growth of 23% and 683%, respectively.

Cumulatively, Vietjet’s air transport revenue for the first six months reached VND 32.893 trillion (approximately US$ 1.3 billion), with a pre-tax profit of VND 1.174 trillion (approximately US$ 46.77 million), marking a significant 31% and 690% year-on-year increase. Consolidated revenue for H1 2024 was VND 34.016 trillion (approximately US$ 1.35 billion), with a consolidated pre-tax profit of VND 1.311 trillion (approximately US$ 52.22 million), exceeding the airline’s H1 target by 21%.

Vietjet continues to lead international expansion efforts, now operating 149 routes, including 38 domestic and 111 international routes. The airline has launched new routes connecting Vietnam with cities in China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Australia. Notably, it operates 58 weekly flights between Vietnam and Australia, making it the airline with the most routes connecting the two countries.

Vietjet is also focused on sustainability, actively developing a modern and eco-friendly fleet, including the purchase of 20 A330neo aircraft. The airline has been recognized with multiple awards, including “Best Low-cost Airline in Southeast Asia” by International Finance.

In India, Vietjet has expanded its operations with 29 weekly flights connecting Vietnam to New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Kochi, solidifying its presence in the Indian market with modern fleets and customer-centric services.
