I recently had the chance to experience First Class on Alaska Airlines for the first time, and it was absolutely breathtaking.
From the opulent seating and generous legroom to the priority boarding at check-in, the perks were incredible. Here’s why you should definitely give it a try:
Alaska’s First Class boasts the most legroom of any U.S. domestic airline. From the moment I settled into my seat, I was amazed by the ample space and generous recline. The custom-designed Recaro leather seats, with a seat pitch of up to 41 inches, provided unparalleled comfort. Features like footrests, tablet holders, and conveniently placed cup holders added a touch of luxury to the flight.
The level of care was truly exceptional. From the warm welcome by flight attendants to the seamless comfort of my seat, every detail was thoughtfully managed. The view from First Class was stunning, with sights like Mount Rainier adding to the experience. A dedicated First Class flight attendant was always nearby, handling everything from coat storage to serving refreshing beverages, making the journey incredibly comfortable.
Savor fresh, local cuisine right at your seat. Shortly after takeoff, flight attendants presented gourmet meals and premium beverages, explaining each option in detail. My drink arrived in a glass, and the meal presentation was impressive—well-plated chicken, a side salad, and warm bread. It was the best airplane food I’ve ever had. Guests can pre-order meals up to 20 hours before flights over 670 miles, featuring a range of West Coast-inspired dishes and complimentary beverages.
Connectivity has never been better. Alaska Airlines has upgraded its aircraft to satellite Wi-Fi, which is 20 times faster than its previous service—and the difference is noticeable. I was able to stream movies and TV shows seamlessly, and stayed connected with friends from takeoff to landing without interruption. All this for just $8!
First Class Lounge Access is another perk. While I didn’t have the chance to visit one of Alaska’s stunning lounges (the SFO lounge is particularly impressive), I found out that if you’re traveling on a paid First Class or a First Class award ticket* for flights where no single segment exceeds 2,000 miles, you can purchase a discounted Single-Entry Lounge Pass for $30**.
After four hours of luxury, stepping off the plane left me feeling refreshed and ready to continue my day, having experienced the very best that Alaska Airlines First Class has to offer. It’s First Class done right.
