Ethiopian Airlines Leads The Charge In Green Aviation With Satarem Agreement

Ethiopian Airlines partners with Satarem America Inc. to produce and use Sustainable Aviation Fuel, reinforcing its commitment to eco-friendly aviation.

Ethiopian Airlines Group has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Satarem America Inc. to collaborate on the production and utilization of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) within Ethiopia. Under this agreement, Satarem will be responsible for producing SAF locally, while Ethiopian Airlines has committed to purchasing the SAF from Satarem. This MoU underscores Ethiopian Airlines Group’s dedication to sustainability and represents a pivotal move towards achieving a greener, more environmentally conscious future.

Through this partnership with Satarem America Inc., a key player in sustainable energy solutions, Ethiopian Airlines Group will integrate SAF into its operations. This initiative will significantly reduce carbon emissions and align with global efforts to tackle climate change. SAF, derived from renewable feedstocks, offers a cleaner alternative to conventional jet fuel, contributing to lower greenhouse gas emissions.
