Avelo Airlines has announced a significant expansion with the launch of a new flight route from Bradley International Airport to the lively city of Cancun, Mexico. Starting November 20, 2024, Avelo will operate flights every Wednesday and Saturday, highlighting the airline’s dedication to promoting travel through affordable and convenient options.

Located halfway between Hartford, Connecticut, and Springfield, Massachusetts, Bradley International Airport serves as the second-largest airport in New England. The Connecticut Airport Authority owns and operates this well-positioned airport, facilitating easy travel for the region’s residents.

Cancun continues to draw international attention with its vibrant culture and stunning landscapes. In 2021, it stood as the 10th busiest airport globally for international passengers, reflecting its popularity and swift post-pandemic recovery. With Avelo’s new flights, the airport expects to further increase its visitor count, which already surpassed 13 million in 2022, providing an efficient new route for exploring the Riviera Maya.

Cancun International Airport (CUN) operates more than 500 flights daily and is a paradise for shoppers and food enthusiasts, boasting first-class shops, extensive duty-free areas, and famous restaurants. Avelo Airlines’ decision to introduce this route from Bradley International supports its mission to inspire travel by reducing the usual travel inconveniences, thus saving passengers both time and money. This strategic move aims to reshape the travel landscape between New England and one of Mexico’s most iconic destinations.
