The 40th Anniversary Ceremony of Xiamen Airlines took place in Xiamen, where the company’s inspiring 40-year history was reviewed and a new blueprint for the future was unveiled.
In a letter marking the occasion, President Xi Jinping offered warm congratulations and expressed strong hopes for the future. Zhao Dong, Chairman of Xiamen Airlines, noted that the president’s words represent both the highest honor for the company and a significant responsibility to uphold. Reviewing the past four decades, Zhao highlighted three key aspects: the profound gratitude for President Xi’s guidance, the appreciation for the support from leaders and organizations at all levels, and the admiration for the dedication of employees across generations.
Looking forward, Zhao Dong said that Xiamen Airlines will stick to President Xi’s new visions, carry forward distinguished values that the organization was built upon, and keep Xiamen Airlines Spirit alive. By protecting and continuing “Xiamen Airlines Undertaking”, the company will play a bigger role in promoting economic and social development, enhancing cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation, turbocharging high-quality development in the civil aviation industry, and boosting China’s strength in transportation.
At the ceremony, the honorary title and medal of “Xiamen Airlines Pioneers in Entrepreneurship” were awarded, and a Framework Agreement on Joint Support for the Deepening Reform of Xiamen Airlines was signed.
The day before the ceremony, the company kicked off a publicity campaign themed around the Bagua Mansion on Kulangsu Island, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. This campaign featured the launch of the corporate anthem “Egrets by Your Side” and the release of its inaugural white paper on corporate social responsibility (CSR). Additionally, the company announced an enhanced partnership with the UN Global Compact China Office, which includes five major initiatives aimed at “propelling sustainable development to create a better world.”
