AirAsia Implements SITA Mission Watch to Upgrade Safety and Optimize Efficiency Across its Network

AirAsia Aviation Group and its affiliate, AirAsia X, major players in Asia’s budget airline sector, have expanded their collaboration with SITA by adopting the SITA Mission Watch system. This move enhances the safety and operational efficiency of their seven airlines.

SITA Mission Watch stands as a premier solution for flight tracking and monitoring, offering detailed weather visualization and fostering improved coordination between the operations center and pilots with its sophisticated alert and communication systems.

The platform is renowned for its intuitive interface and its ability to mesh well with other tech solutions, creating a unified system that enhances operational synergy across the AirAsia brand. Currently, this technology is operational within AirAsia Malaysia, AirAsia X, AirAsia Philippines, AirAsia Indonesia, Thai AirAsia, Thai AirAsia X, and AirAsia Cambodia. This technology plays a crucial role in overseeing more than 200 aircraft that connect over 130 destinations across 22 countries.

Key features of SITA Mission Watch include tracking aircraft specifics like latitude, longitude, altitude, and timing, offering 4D/15 visibility, which not only complies with but surpasses the ICAO’s Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) standards for tracking. Additionally, it integrates real-time weather information from various sources, empowering flight dispatchers to foresee and proactively address potential disruptions by facilitating direct communication with the cockpit through its advanced messaging functions.
