Berniq Airways, the Libyan carrier, has confirmed a purchase of six A320neo Family planes from Airbus. This airline currently manages a fleet of six A320s and plans to expand its regional and international networks using the newly acquired A320neo Family planes.

Waseem Ezzway, Chairman of Berniq Airways said, “We are proud to be the first airline in Libya to order the advanced A320neo Family aircraft. This significant investment marks a new chapter for Berniq Airways as we continue to lead the way in modernizing our fleet and enhancing our service offerings.”

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business said, “It is a pleasure to see Berniq Airways expanding its fleet with the world’s best-in-class single-aisle aircraft. The A320neo family will enable Berniq Airways to provide its customers with unparalleled comfort while offering the airline exceptional economic advantages.”

The A320 Family stands as the most favored single-aisle aircraft globally, amassing over 18,000 orders from upwards of 300 clients. Among its lineup, the A321neo holds the title of the largest, offering unmatched range and efficiency. With advanced engines and Sharklets, the A321neo achieves a noise reduction of 50% and improves fuel efficiency and CO₂ emissions by at least 20% over earlier models of single-aisle planes, while providing exceptional passenger comfort in the most spacious single-aisle cabin available.

Like other Airbus models, the entire A320 Family can already use up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus aims to enhance its fleet to be compatible with 100% SAF by the year 2030.
