ITA Airways’ Rome to Bangkok Direct Flights Launching This Winter

ITA Airways, Italy’s flagship carrier, has announced a brand-new nonstop service connecting Rome Fiumicino with Bangkok, scheduled to commence on November 16 with services running five times a week. This route marks ITA Airways’ inaugural direct connection from Italy to Thailand, standing out as a major addition to the airline’s winter schedule for 2024/2025. This initiative aligns with another significant launch, the Rome Fiumicino to Dubai route, which starts on October 27, 2024.

Travelers can book their seats for the Rome-Bangkok flight via all of ITA Airways’ booking channels. The airline plans to operate the route with an Airbus A330neo, adhering to the following timetable:

  • From Rome Fiumicino to Bangkok, flights will begin on November 16, departing every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday at 3:15 PM local time, and arriving in Bangkok at 7:40 AM local time the following day.
  • The return flight from Bangkok to Rome Fiumicino will start on November 17, with departures scheduled for every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday at 12:15 PM local time, arriving in Rome at 7:00 PM local time.

At the same time, it is a key destination for business traffic between the two Countries, a sector in constant growth. The new direct flight also reflects ITA Airways’ commitment to providing optimal travel solutions,” added the CCO, “confirming the importance of developing the intercontinental network in the Company’s commercial strategies.”

“Thailand is one of the target markets in Southeast Asia for Rome, and being able to count on this new direct connection from ITA Airways is a great source of satisfaction for us,” stated Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma. “The new route to Bangkok will be an excellent option both for business travelers and for the many tourists, representing a sure boost to the growth of traffic flows and collaboration opportunities between the two Countries.”

This summer, ITA Airways serves 57 destinations, encompassing 16 domestic, 26 international, and 15 intercontinental routes. The airline has expanded its offerings with new direct flights from its Rome Fiumicino hub to Chicago and Toronto starting in April and May 2024, respectively. Additionally, it began services to Riyadh on June 2, 2023, and to Accra on June 6, 2023. Upcoming launches include Dakar on July 3 and Jeddah on August 1, 2024.
