Ryanair Adds Extra Flights Amid Aer Lingus Pilot Strikes

Ryanair, Europe’s leading airline, has announced the addition of extra flights to and from London Stansted, Malaga, and Faro airports on Saturday, June 29th, and Sunday, June 30th. This move comes in response to the pilot strikes at Aer Lingus, which have led to a surge in demand, causing many Ryanair flights to these destinations to sell out completely for the upcoming weekend.

Addressing rumors circulating on social media, Ryanair clarified that it has not raised its fares due to the Aer Lingus pilot strikes. The high demand has resulted in sold-out flights. To accommodate passengers, Ryanair is now offering two additional return flights between London Stansted and Dublin on both Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, there will be two extra flights on the Malaga/Dublin route on Saturday and the Faro/Dublin route on Sunday.

Fares for the new London Stansted flights start at €270 one way, while the Malaga flights are priced from €330 one way, and the Faro flight from €340 one way. Due to the exceptional demand, these flights are expected to sell out quickly, and passengers are encouraged to book early.

Ryanair’s Chief Marketing Office Dara Brady said:

“We decided last week not to increase air fares in response to the Aer Lingus pilot strikes. As a result, many of our flights next weekend have completely sold out. We are pleased to be able to add these extra flights to London, Malaga and Faro next weekend using one of our spare aircraft. These flights will sell out quickly so we urge all intending passengers whose Aer Lingus flights have been cancelled, to book quickly and early to avail of these very scarce additional seats.

In the meantime, we are working closely with Aer Lingus to accept some of their transfer passengers (although we have very limited seat availability) during the school holidays. We are working with Aer Lingus to assist disrupted passengers where we have seat availability, and we have also offered Aer Lingus some wet lease capacity over the coming days, if that will assist them to help disrupted passengers during these regrettable and unnecessary pilot strikes.”
