Hainan Airlines Wins Big At SKYTRAX 2024, Recognized For Superior Service And Comfort

On June 24th, in London, UK, SKYTRAX, the renowned evaluator of global airline and airport services, announced the 2024 World Awards. Hainan Airlines was honored with the prestigious SKYTRAX Five-Star Airline award for the thirteenth consecutive year, recognizing its outstanding services and products. The airline also secured victories in three categories: Best Airlines in China, Best Airlines Staff Service in China, and Best Business Class Comfort Amenities. Ding Yongzheng, Chairman of HNA Aviation Group, graced the occasion at the World Award Ceremony.

Since joining Liaoning Fangda Group, Hainan Airlines has embarked on a new phase of growth. By February 2024, the airline achieved a significant milestone of 10 million consecutive safe flight hours, earning the esteemed “Flight Safety Diamond Award” from China’s Civil Aviation Administration (CAAC). Hainan Airlines has also intensified its efforts to restore routes, expanding its network and enhancing services. Its commitment to safe, efficient, and top-tier aviation has garnered widespread acclaim among travelers.

Looking ahead to the summer and autumn of 2024, Hainan Airlines plans to operate nearly 500 domestic routes and over 40 international and regional routes, connecting cities across Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania, Africa, and beyond.

The airline has consistently invested in cutting-edge technologies to upgrade hardware and enhance service capabilities through travel intelligence initiatives. These include implementing a nationwide baggage tracking system across 14 airports, deploying 787-9 aircraft with air-ground interconnection capabilities surpassing the 3,000-meter altitude limit for seamless network connectivity, and introducing an intelligent customer service robot powered by big data and AI. These innovations provide travelers with enhanced services such as baggage tracking, air-ground connectivity, and intelligent customer support.

In collaboration with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), Hainan Airlines has introduced a new range of Chinese meals for Business Class passengers, leveraging both companies’ expertise in meal research, development, and in-flight catering. Additionally, the airline has incorporated Sofitel Hotels’ exclusive MyBed™ bedding experience into its Business Class, contributing to its accolades in the Best Business Class Comfort Amenities category worldwide. To further streamline travel, Hainan Airlines has enhanced its “Simplified Business” service with self-service and online check-in options, alongside baggage tracking features. Moreover, the airline has launched a Pet Cabin Care service on select domestic flights from 23 cities, allowing passengers to travel with their pets in the cabin under certain conditions.

Environmental sustainability is a key focus for Hainan Airlines, reflected in its “Green Aviation, Dream Flight – Hainan Airlines Green Aviation Construction” initiative, recognized as a model project under the Belt and Road Initiative in February 2024. This underscores its commitment to a low-carbon economy.
