San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has once again secured the top spot for the fastest free airport Wi-Fi in the world, as per a recent ranking by Ookla, a broadband and mobile network testing company. The analysis, which focuses on Wi-Fi over mobile connections on free Wi-Fi provided by the individual airports and Wi-Fi at selected airport lounges, highlights SFO’s exceptional performance.
During the first quarter of 2024, SFO showcased a remarkable median download speed of 173.55 Mbps, setting a high standard for airport Wi-Fi services. Following closely behind SFO are Newark Liberty International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, all of which also boast impressive speeds.
Notably, SFO stood out for its exceptional upload speeds, which were even faster than its download speeds, especially evident during video calls.
