The launch of menswear might have been the news of the moment chez Plan C, but didn’t take all of Carolina Castiglioni’s focus, as the designer definitely didn’t leave her woman behind — nor let her down — with this cool spring 2025 collection.
As reported, in a preview with WWD Castiglioni said that menswear came as a natural extension of her brand and that the two genders share a common fashion language expressed in many looks, prints, silhouettes and textures that were replicated across the lineup and amplified the strength and cohesiveness of her message. Yet the women’s offering was wider and had charming additions that further proved how Castiglioni has mastered the art of turning workwear, tailoring and sporty references into simple yet chic looks for everyday.
A sense of freshness ran through the collection via both mannish and bowed shirts, blouses, pleated pants and shorts crafted from crisp poplin or airy lightweight cotton and rendered in jade green and sky blue as well as white and buttery tones. Stripes, graphic prints and pictures taken by Castiglioni herself were seen on the elongated and streamlined cotton tunics and long skirts, while the brand’s staple knits came in pale yellow polo dresses and openwork polo shirts in upbeat hues.
A profusion of drawstrings and colorful ropes imbued a sporty vibe and more relaxed attitude in lightweight tailoring, including a series of standout suits embellished with tonal sequined fringes running down the lapel or on below-the-knee skirts. In another highlight, silver fringe stood against a tangerine skirt and counterbalanced the casual feel of a cotton field jacket coated with a water-resistant film, which added a shiny finish and liquid feel to its silhouette.
In the same experimental vein, Castiglioni introduced paper-looking leather bags, which added to the fringed charms dangling from pants and accessories in heightening the appeal of this covetable and wearable collection.
