To better serve local commuters and tourists over the Dragon Boat Festival long weekend, the MTR Corporation has announced plans to expand train services across six rail lines from Saturday to Monday, 8-10 June 2024. Overall, more than 400 additional train trips will be scheduled across these days. Detailed timings and frequency adjustments can be found in the attached annex.

On Saturday, the Island Line will see trains running more frequently throughout most of the day, and from the afternoon to evening on the subsequent days. Frequencies will be tightened from the usual 3-5 minutes to approximately every 2.5-4 minutes.

Enhancements will also be made to the South Island Line and Disneyland Resort Line to support those visiting Ocean Park and Hong Kong Disneyland. The South Island Line will operate with intervals reduced to around every 3-6 minutes throughout the day. Meanwhile, the Disneyland Resort Line will boost its service from a 10-minute interval to every 5 minutes during two key periods: 9:00-9:30 AM and 6:00-7:00 PM, aiding those going to and from the theme park.

The East Rail Line will increase train frequencies for both southbound and northbound directions between Lok Ma Chau and Admiralty stations during morning hours over the three days, with peak service intervals at approximately every 8.5 minutes.

Anticipating higher passenger volumes during the holiday, MTR Corporation encourages travelers to plan for extra travel time. Additional staff will be present at key stations such as Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau on the East Rail Line, and at Hong Kong West Kowloon Station on the High-Speed Rail, to assist passengers. The Corporation will also maintain close coordination with relevant government bodies to adjust services as needed based on real-time demand.
