LNER is naming the 1000 London-Edinburgh train “The Flying Swiftie” – as thousands of Taylor Swift fans take the train to her first UK gig in the Scottish capital.

The rail firm famous for having Red seats knows All Too Well that its passengers love a named train – from The Flying Scotsman to the Highland Chieftan and the recently introduced Carolean Express.

As passengers travel in Style and say So Long, London they will be reminded with on-train and station announcements that Everything Has Changed and that they’re on The Flying Swiftie.

Screens around the station and along the route will refer to the train’s name too.

Taylor Swift fans will be able to get refreshments onboard cheaper than their Wildest Dreams thanks to a special Flying Swiftie discount.

Stuart Thomas, Communications Director at LNER, said: “We know thousands of people will be travelling to see Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour this summer and it fills us with Happiness to be carrying so many of them in Style.

We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to celebrate the tour arriving in the UK and so our special Flying Swiftie service will say ‘So Long, London’ at 10am – packed with fans heading for the first night in Edinburgh.”

LNER has already launched a guide for fans on social media, explaining how to get from Edinburgh Waverley to Murrayfield Stadium.

Trains are expected to be very busy with fans over the weekend and passengers are encouraged to reserve their seats in advance via the LNER website.
